Over 40 million people—one in every 200—are forced against their will to live as domestic servants, slave laborers, child soldiers, prostitutes or sex trade workers. It is unfair, unethical, immoral, cruel and evil… and it truly breaks God’s heart. Portico Church is going to do something about it. In spring of 2022 Portico Church is hosting a number of events with Christian rock band Remedy Drive to some local and regional university campuses. Our goal is to share the hope of Jesus and promote the work of Exodus Road in the fight against human trafficking. We want to put a dent in the darkness, bringing light to a dark and desperate situation because that’s exactly what Jesus has done for us.
In spring of 2022 Portico Church stepped into the fight. We raised funds to put on campus concerts with the band Remedy Drive with the goal of sharing the hope of Jesus and challenging people to use their life to make a difference in this area.
Now that these events are over, we’re turning our efforts to support the work of Exodus Road in stopping human traffickers and setting victims free. You can hear the story of The Exodus Road or visit their website at:
We’re also partnering with the local organization called Damascus Road where we can help in hands-on ways with victims locally. You can find out more Damascus Road here or visit their website at:
Would you joining us in the fight to bring awareness and change in the area of human trafficking? We can make a difference. We can start making some Dents in the Darkness.
