We all love movies, especially Christmas movies. There’s just something about those old classics that stir the heart and add some joy to the holiday season. Sure, almost all of them are pure fiction, but many of them have themes and moments that resonate with us.
We invite you to join us this year for a fun yet inspiring series at Portico Church called Christmas at the Movies. We’ll look at key moments in classic Christmas movies that teach us something real about the TRUE meaning of Christmas.
12.3 Believe… No Matter What (Miracle on 34th Street, Polar Express, Elf) The message will focus on Luke 1, the announcements of the coming of John the Baptist and Jesus.
12.10 Awake to New Hope (Family Man, A Christmas Carol, It’s a Wonderful Life) The message will focus on Joseph and the story of the Shepherds.
12.17 How to Ruin Christmas (The Nightmare Before Christmas, Die Hard, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Gremlins) The message will focus on the Magi, and Herod’s attempts to kill Jesus and stop God’s plan.
On Sunday December 24th we will not meet on Sunday morning, but will have a special candle light Christmas Eve worship gathering for all ages from 4:30-5:30pm.
