Portico is Open AND Online

Sunday, May 24th at 9:30am we will re-open Sunday worship gatherings at Portico, but we are going to do it with significant precautions in place.   We will continue to broadcast live so that those who are most at risk or not yet ready to gather continue to have the opportunity to participate online.  As a precaution for time being, things will look a little different.  We encourage you to watch the Facebook Video (@PorticoChurchOshkosh) to hear more, but here are the bullet points.  Please read through them before you come on Sunday.

Social Distancing We are asking you to continue social distancing practices that have been widely accepted to this point.  We’re asking you to keep your distance, avoid handshakes or hugs.  We’ll have designated seating areas to spread people out more.  Families/households will need to sit together and be  keep some distance between yourselves and other families. Please do not let kids roam the church building.  Keep them with you.

Worship Gathering There will be no kidz church, toddler or nursery available.  All rooms downstairs (except bathrooms) will be closed for now. HOWEVER… we are going to plan our gatherings to be kid-and-family-friendly. We’ll also provide some activity pages kids can do in their seats, and there will be some spaced out tables in the cafe where a few larger families could sit if needed.  But again, our main focus will be creating a worship gathering that is accessible for all ages.

A Few PracticalsWe’ll have a greeter/door holder whenever possible. We’ll have hand sanitizer available at the entrance.  It’s okay to wear a mask, but you must bring your own.  We will not have them available.  We won’t be doing snacks or beverages.  Water machines will be turned off.  Please DO NOT bring snacks or beverages into the building.  If necessary, give kids a snack on the car ride here.  It’s partly for safety, but mostly for cleaning.
We won’t hand out bibles because we have no good way to clean them, so please bring your own. We won’t pass baskets for offering, but they will be available at the back. (you can also give online or through the TITHE.LY app)

We will need to clear out immediately after church in preparation for Living Stone’ service time. If you would like to talk with friends, please move outside to do so.

Cleaning Immediately after Church  We need a crew of 6-8 people to help clean and disinfect bathrooms, handrails, tables, seating areas, etc. immediately after church. It will likely take about 15 minutes for those who volunteer.  Living Stone will do the same after their gathering is finished.
